Compare integrations
There are five ways to take payments through Straumur. They differ in who hosts the payment form, where card data goes, and how much of the experience you control. The webhooks, the modifications and the portals are the same behind all of them, so you can start with one and add another later.

Two things are the same whichever you pick:
- 3D Secure is handled by Straumur. You never build an authentication flow yourself.
- Webhooks are how you learn the outcome. Set them up whichever connection you choose; the plugins do this for you.
When in doubt
Start with Hosted Checkout. It is the smallest integration, it exercises the same API keys, terminals and webhooks as everything else, and moving to Components later is a change of front end, not of back end. Reach for Components when the look of the payment step matters and you want the shopper to stay on your page. Reach for the Payment Gateway when you already hold tokens, run subscriptions, or build a native app. Payment Links need no development at all.
